Grocery Store Chains Are Saving Millions With SolarCould Your Business Do the Same?

We’ve worked hard to become a resource for our commercial clients, and our numbers prove our efforts are paying off: We’ve interconnected more than 1.5 megawatts in the past two months alone.

Our commercial clients range from processors to grocery chains to auto dealerships and beyond. We want them to understand their solar options and make decisions that are best for them, the environment, and their bottom lines. Here are a few examples of how we help commercial clients maximize their investments.

Unique arrangements. We understand that not every entrepreneur owns the place in which they do business, but we can still help those clients benefit from solar. We walk them and their landlords through a power purchase agreement (PPA) lease. PPAs offer a low up-front cost, last for more than a decade, and are transferable. And the best part? Building owners/landlords get the tax credit and monthly residual income, while the tenants save money on monthly PG&E bills.

Complimentary rooftop analysis. If you’re not sure if your roof can handle the weight of solar panels, call us. Our construction team will perform a rooftop capacity analysis and create a custom engineering and testing plan to make sure your new system is sustainable.

Maximize solar tax credit. The investment tax credit for solar applies to both commercial and residential buildings. The tax credit will hold at 30 percent of the cost of the system through 2019, but afterwards will step down in value until 2022, when owners will be able to deduct only 10 percent of the cost of a solar system. If you’ve been putting off solar, now is your time to save money.

Commercial Case Study Example
Our partnership with a regional grocery chain is an excellent example of how we find solutions for our commercial customers, while working with their internal teams to accomplish their goals. For example, we completed six installations for the chain in just the past three years alone. These installations have resulted in millions of dollars in savings.

Traditionally, grocery stores and cold-storage facilities place extraordinary energy demands on the system. On average with solar, grocery stores can save over $45,000 per year on their energy bills and their systems pay for themselves in just 4 years or less, while locking in their energy bill for the next 20 years.

We can create a customized solution for your commercial business. Call us for a consultation so we can help you start saving now and for years to come.
